Felix Da Housecat has begun to broadcast all of his DJ sets live as they happen.
Find Twitter tracklists a bit impersonal? Well Felix Da Housecat is going the extra mile for his fans, setting up his own internet video channel so that they can check him spinning records at whatever downtown club he's at that evening. Felix has even made fans able to speak to him as he plays, giving them the opportunity to pick the next track and get a live shoutout over the mic. Interested viewers and Housecat fans can check out his channel over at the Justin.tv site, but you'll have to wait until June 6th for his next DJ set at Bulgaria's Seeme festival. As far as we know, he'll be the first DJ to stream all of his shows live over the internet.

One of the most revered house music artists in the NYC scene has taken a highly questionable new direction in his career. NYC's Larry Tee has teamed up with several 'celebs', for an album that seems to celebrate superficiality, glamour and all things plastic.
We're pretty sure that Larry, a true pioneer in the US club scene, has produced his Club Badd album purely as a gimmick to expose the anomalies of the so-called glamorous side of electronic music (and Hollywood, and reality shows, and celebrity worshipping, and lifestyle, and...). Guest stars to appear on the album come in the form of Perez Hilton, Princess Superstar and Amanda Lepore, but also Christopher Just and Sebastian Leger, while its tracks hold names such as Hipster Girl, and Louis Vuitton.
Larry Tee is one of the key figures within the US house music industry as a DJ, producer and promoter, having collaborated with a high number of big names since the early eighties. He helped launch the careers of Scissor Sisters, Fischerspooner and Peaches, while he's also credited for coining the the term Electroclash. Larry Tee's new album is out now and available on iTunes.

The Toronto artist was also crowned the "Best Break-Through DJ" at the 24th annual International Dance Music Awards (IDMA) held in Miami during the Winter Music Conference. He kicked off his highly anticipated North American spring tour in March where he made several high-profile appearances at SXSW and performed on each day of the Ultra Music Festival (UMF) in Miami, where twice he took audiences by storm with his unique and exhilarating live show. Tiesto will be in residence every Monday, starting on the 7th of July until the closing party on the 22nd of September. Tiesto will deliver his four hour sets in the style of his 'In Search of Sunrise' series - everything dedicated to the atmosphere that can only be found on the Balearic Islands.

'It's the place to be when it comes to the most crazy and energetic parties', he says. 'At the same time Ibiza has a lot of beautiful and still secret spots to be discovered, so my love and dedication for the island, its atmosphere and the party people will most definitely be felt by everyone who's going to enjoy my residencies at Privilege. Knowing that I will play the latest and best new tunes available, all shows backed by the highly professional production of the club and the fact that I will be able to deliver this to the people in the biggest club in the world, well, you can't afford to not come to Privilege on Monday nights this summer!'
The residencies will also feature guest DJs, all selected by Tiesto himself. Some of the names that the audience can expect are Chris Lake, Andy Duguid (Ibiza debut), Mat-Zo, Cosmic Gate, Alex Kunnari and Sander van Doorn. There will be exclusive appearances by Fonzerelli (Ibiza debut), and Airbase. In the backroom of Privilege, Riley & Durant will present Electric Playground, supported by Galaxy FM.
Tiesto had two successful Elements of Life events at Privilege last year and he is looking forward to playing again at the biggest club in the world. His residency will be the ultimate chance for everyone visiting Ibiza to experience the enigma known as Tiesto.

Steve Angello is still smiling about his public mash-up with Paris Hilton on Friday night. Despite being all over the entertainment news and tabloids about the infamous fight-club night with the inmate Paris Hilton, he still found time out of his busy schedule to make a t-shirt to commemorate the scandalous occasion.
“I [heart] Paris!” was the title of the t-shirt he brought with him to the Beatport Pool Party at the National Hotel this past Sunday, in Miami Beach. Fellow Swedish House Mafia man Sebastian Ingrosso also managed to put together a funny t-shirt for the event but his was a little more blunt.
All in good fun - the tee was given to Angelo by a friend that had it made by a local tattoo shop (that also does airbrushing) in South Beach.
Other DJs that were in the line-up at the Beatport Pool Party were: Adam Beyer, ATFC, A-Trak, Boys Noize, Damian Lazarus, Dennis Ferrer, Hatiras, Johnny D, Josh Wink, Laidback Luke, Louie Vega, Marco Carola, Olivier Giacomotto, Radio Slave, Robbie Rivera, Steve Lawler, The Martinez Brothers, Tiga & Proxy, and Tommie Sunshine.

Now here's an interesting initiative for all DJs whose gigs are limited to rocking in front of their teddy bears. DJSounds provides bedroom DJs the opportunity to get themselves heard and seen through a digital platform.
Do you feel that your mixing talent isn't getting the attention it deserves? Then videotape it and submit the footage to DJSounds.com and chances are that you're the one who will be rocking it to an international audience (behind their screens, yes, but still...). The platform's team will publish one video per week which they consider to be the best, but you might wanna keep in mind a few tips & tricks though: Tutorial videos, exotic locations, and specification of gear used are appreciated extras. You may also comment on other people's videos or suggest footage that has impressed you or your friends.
Seems like a pretty solid initiative to us and the best part? It's sponsored by our friends at Pioneer!

On Friday, March 13th Dutch DJ Tiesto gave his Dubai fans a taste of his skills at the Armani Exchange store in the Deira City Centre before playing to a sold out crowd at Dubai Festival City – sponsored by Armani Exchange. Below is an article, written by Rachel McArthur, for Emirates Business - Business 24-7, issued on Friday, March 13, 2009:
King of Spin Does Biz
It's hard to find a DJ whose career has been punctuated by so many landmark achievements, but Tiesto is the exception. Not only did he become the first DJ to play live at the Olympic Games, the Dutchman was also the first to sell out a solo stadium event for over 25,000 people two nights in a row, and the first to hit number one in the Netherlands with an instrumental track, Traffic. His remix of Delerium featuring Sarah McLachlan's Silence became the first house track ever broadcast on daytime radio in North America and then went on to become an international dance anthem. He is now one of the world's most famous figures on the electronic dance music scene and was declared the world's number one DJ by DJ Magazine from 2002 to 2004. Most recently, he received a Grammy Award nomination and was voted Mix Mag's number one DJ of 2008. To top it all off, when he's not working on his music, Tiesto dedicates his time to charity (he's an ambassador for the Dance4Life foundation). The DJ also runs his own production business and has endorsements with companies such as Armani Exchange, Reebok and Microsoft. But despite his success, and immense popularity in the Middle East, Tiesto remains grounded, and when Emirates Business chatted to him ahead of his two appearances in Dubai tonight – an in-store performance at Armani Exchange in Deira City Centre from 6pm, followed by a gig at Dubai Festival City from 9pm – it is obvious his love of music was the catalyst for his success.
You're back in Dubai for your biggest gig in the city to date – 15,000 people at Dubai Festival City. Is it good to be back?
It's always great to be back. It's like a little holiday for me; I get pampered and I always stay in an amazing hotel. Plus the weather's nice and there is always a good crowd. I also have gigs in Doha and Beirut in the same week, which is exciting. People in Beirut really know how to party.
You've been called the most popular DJ in the world. What is your secret?
That's up to the fans to decide, but I guess it's because my music is energetic and happy, and people can really have fun. There's something for everyone – girls like the tunes with vocals, while guys prefer the harder, more trance tracks.
But you're not just a DJ. Besides the music and gigs, haven't you also got business ventures?
I've set up a company called Unlimited Productions with a friend of mine. Basically, we produce tours for other DJs. You can call it a vertical investment.
Media reports say that you're working on your new album. Can you tell us more? When will it be released?
I'm working on the tracks now, and I think it will be out by the end of 2009.
What is it going to be called?
I know what it's going to be called, but I'm not going to tell you. It's a secret.
Will you release a new single before the album comes out?
Yes, I think I'll release a single in the summer. I haven't decided what though, because I haven't finished all the tracks. I need to finish them to see which one I like best for the first single.
What else have you been up to?
My latest release is a remix of Spaceman by The Killers, and at the moment I am working on the new single by Calvin Harris. I am obviously doing a lot of gigs too.
So where would you say your money comes from? Brand endorsements, albums or touring?
Touring is a good source of income for any DJ, and when it comes to endorsements, I do things I believe in, like with Armani.
But in a time when anyone can buy individual songs over the internet, do album sales still bring in cash?
Yes. My last album, Elements of Life was my biggest-selling album of all time.
What do you think of those who download your music for free?
I don't mind at all. When I started DJing, I did it because I love music and wanted to share it with the world. If I produce a track and somebody downloads it, then I am honoured: That's one more person listening to my music. To be rich, is to be rich with what you have; not the number in the bank.
So you don't know how much you're worth?
Nope. My manager does my accounts.
With all the gigs, how many passports do you go through in a year?
Two, but one is extra thick: 64 pages.
What are your favourite destinations?
I like Argentina and Lebanon.
Where in the world haven't you performed but would love to go to?
I'd love to do a tour of India, because I've only been there briefly. I want to play in the country's real cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
What's your opinion on those who claim that the era of the DJ is fading?
I don't agree. If DJs are fading, then I think it will happen slowly over the next 100 years. I think it's easier for DJs to tour. We can do live or semi-live sets, we can mix tracks. Plus, I can do a gig every night and I don't have to play the same set, whereas bands are stuck with a certain set-list. Even bands who have had 10 albums will still be stuck with a set-list. I think those who claim that really do not know what a DJ does. They don't realise that DJs play their own tracks and can create something new.
How do you like being described?
I'm definitely electronic, but I like the terms rocktronic and maximal.
Which DJs do you rate?
Sven Vath, DJ SvD, Virtual Vault, Ricky Rivaro and Steve Aoki.
Do you listen to other genres?
Yes, there's a little bit of everything in my MP3 player. At the moment, I'm listening to Bloc Party, The Killers, Muse and Moby.
What kind of club nights do you like going to when you're not working?
I prefer going to parties where the music is different, because if it's the same style of music, I end up spending the night thinking about what I could do with the tracks. Technically I end up working. So going somewhere like a hip-hop club is better.
Do you get recognized a lot?
Yeah, I do. You'd think I wouldn't, but people come up and say hi.
How do you cope with the "celeb" aspect?
It's just part of the job. People want to dream and read about their favourite stars in magazines, so the paparazzi thing comes with making music. I've read some ridiculous things about me – once I apparently died in an accident, and another story claimed I drink 31 energy drinks per gig. It's just ridiculous and I ignore it.

Danny Howells has played many of the Made parties at BED in previous years, and 2009 will see him return to the intimate venue.
Howells' events became such a popular staple of the WMC that he was forced to migrate to larger venues such as The Pawn Shop and SET. Now that The Pawn Shop has now closed, Howells has decided to take his Dig Deeper party to his old haunt, where he will spin solo for the entire seven hour duration. With his new Dig Deeper label just kicking into gear, revellers can expect to hear plenty of Howells' new productions nestled alongside his deeply dug selections.
Danny Howells revolted and created his own party – Dig Deeper – as a venue for him to explore longer sets. With the stamina to do up to 12-hour sets, Danny will be bringing Dig Deeper party back to South Beach for Winter Music Conference this year. Known for his Global Underground and Azuli mixed CD as well as numerous productions/remixes, Danny is planning to bring his original productions to his sets for live DJ gigs as well as a new mixed compilation due this summer.

Cosmic Gate have created and inspired some of the most influential music ever to hit our dancefloors over the past decade, having a lot of success from their artist album Earth Mover (IDMA nominated) and last year’s big track Body of Conflict.
Not Enough Time comes in a Club and Extended Mix with Emma’s tender vocal fitting perfectly with the dramatic bass, soaring breakdowns and atmospheric melodies. Trance-man of the moment Sied Van Riel turns out a blinding re-rub, with Andy Duguid also providing an ace remix that rounds off the package nicely.
This release is already getting hammered by the likes of TIËSTO, ARMIN, PVD, Judge Jules and MARKUS SCHULZ who have all played Not Enough Time over the airwaves and in their DJ sets in the last two weeks.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for Cosmic Gate performing live during Winter Music Conference at Armani Exchange South Beach-March 27th from 4 pm-6 pm.

For five consecutive years Paul van Dyk’s annual concerts in Central Park have been one of New York City’s most anticipated live music events.
Last year, over 10,000 loyal fans from around the world invaded New York City to experience a day in the park with Paul Van Dyk. This year, PVD and Made Event leave the friendly confines of Central Park and travel west to the famed Pier 54 for a waterside dance music extravaganza that’s never been experienced before, on Saturday, August 16th 2008.
For the first time ever in New York City, Paul van Dyk’s 5-hour live set is to be accompanied by a full sound system installation engineered specifically for this event by acclaimed sound design company Integral Sound. Fans in attendance at Pier 54 will enjoy Paul van Dyk’s music in its purest form and at an unmatched level of clarity.
Paul van Dyk has made no secret of his passion for New York City, producing a hit song titled “New York City”, coming to NewYork several times a year, naming his label and radio show VONYC, and during an interview with me during WMC ’07, he said the outdoor concert in New York is one of his “favorite gigs of the year". Previous concerts have featured live vocalists, percussionists, and other special guests, heard on van Dyk’s releases.
In the coming weeks Made Event will reveal the very special surprises and themes associated with Paul van Dyk at Pier 54. It’s something that no Paul van Dyk fan will want to miss!
Tickets for Paul van Dyk at Pier 54 are available at here

Tonight is the night - Grammy nominated and electronic music pioneer, Tiësto will kick off his 2008 Summer "In Search of Sunrise Tour", presented by Armani Exchange.
Tiësto will play Ruby Skyy in San Francisco tonight in support of his upcoming album "In Search of Sunrise 7 - Asia" out June 10th.
This tour will see Tiesto return to his club roots, allowing his fans to see him up close and personal in a more intimate setting, following his record breaking “Elements Of Life” world tour last year.
"In Search of Sunrise 7: Asia," is Tiesto's latest entry in the popular mix series, which began in 1999. As with previous volumes in the series, including last year's "In Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza," the new set will once again find Tiesto remixing songs originally recorded by other artists.
Armani Exchange, which is sponsoring the upcoming club tour, will also sponsor a 3-CD best-of compilation drawn from the various "Sunrise" albums to be sold exclusively at Armani Exchange stores, starting on June 10.

Continuing the unique success of his geographically inspired mix compilations, Tiesto looks to explore yet another region by taking us to the Far East this time with In Search of Sunrise 7 – Asia.
In Search Of Sunrise 7 – Asia, which was mixed and recorded in Thailand, captures the peaceful and intensively passionate way of life together with the vigorous activity that Tiesto encountered during his tour through the region this spring. With past stops in Latin America, Los Angeles and last year's Ibiza, Tiesto shows that Asia gave him the inspiration to deliver a brand new, double disc mix compilation, which beautifully expresses what he experienced on his journeys.
On In Search of Sunrise 7 – Asia, Tiesto offers up a seamless trip through the latest and best trance, house and techno with an Asian flair, spread over two full-length discs. 'I wanted to mix the concept behind ISOS 7 over two separate sets in such a fashion that the listeners can get a proper impression of what it means to tour Asia', he says. 'Disc one will dwell on the easy going ambience and overwhelming beauty of the continent, whereas the second disc will focus on the incredible energy of the Asian people I felt during the live sets throughout the Asian tour'.
To support the release of his new mix compilation, Armani Exchange presents: Tiesto’s North American 2008 In Search Of Sunrise Summer Tour, with 36 club shows rolling across the States and Canada on the 13th of June. He will later on host an exclusive two month long residency at Club Privilege in Ibiza. Tiesto will be the resident every Monday, starting on the 7th of July until the closing party on the 22nd of September. Tiesto will deliver his four hour deejay sets in the style of his In Search Of Sunrise series, everything supported by a newly developed and custom made state of the art production.
In addition, Tiesto has created an exclusive limited edition 3CD version of his In Search of Sunrise 7 – Asia – available only at Armani Exchange staring June 10.

Dimitri, who is renowned for his chic disco and house sets, first visited the Playboy Mansion in 2000, to launch his seminal mix CD, A Night at the Playboy Mansion. Hugh Hefner offered up the iconic Playboy Mansion to mark the album’s release and Dimitri’s guests included Daft Punk and Kylie Minogue.
Dimitri’s style, a beguiling mix of retro flourishes and carefully selected modern classics, has remained with him through out his adult life, and reflects his deeply-held respect for the disco era.
While fellow DJs have altered their styles to stay abreast of newer trends, Dimitri prefers to stay true to his roots. His CDs remain popular too.
The first Playboy mix has sold just under 400,000 copies, and morphed into a series, the latest inclusion being Dimitri From Paris Return To The Playboy Mansion. The first disc in this new mix pairs break-in-case-of-emergency floor fillers like Jamiroquai ‘Cosmic Girl’ alongside obscure eighties tunes like Musique’s ‘Love Massage’ and recent jazz-pop oddities like Mario Biondi’s ‘This Is What You Are’.
“It is good to remember that I have been in the business over 25 years, we have this saying in France,” he explains, “‘in the old pots you make the better soup’. I do an old fashioned, heart-warming soup. It goes down well; I like it and I want other people to taste it.”

How did you first get into DJing?
When I moved from Germany to Amsterdam, I was doing a lot of modeling. My boyfriend was deep into the dance scene there as a dj and the promoter of the famous Motion parties in Amsterdam. At home I tried to mix records for fun on his turntables, and it turned out I had feeling for it…

Happy Birthday to the DJ Legend Tiesto!
Always the man on the move Tiesto stopped by the Radio 1 studio in Amsterdam to record a segment for the Dance Anthem show. Tiesto plays some of the classic anthems that inspired him and future trance tracks from his box (including brand new remixes from the man himself and top new tracks from Richard Durrand & New State). Plus, he also answered some of the questions you sent in & spins some of your requests – it doesn’t get any better then that. Check out the "behind the scenes" footage.
See Tiesto LIVE at:
Foro Sol – Mexico City – January 19
El Divino – Florianopoli – February 5
Indig02 – London – February 29

Kaskade will be promoting “Bring the Night”, his second CD release on Ultra Records, with the ultimate DJ trifecta on New Years Eve that include performances starting on December 31, 2007 – Los Angeles, CA at Giant Maximus, set time 10pm-12am, then he moves on January 1, 2008 – Las Vegas, NV at the Empire Ball Room, set time 7am - 10am, with a final set on January 1, 2008 – San Francisco, CA Mission Rock Cafe set time 2:30am - 4:30am.
With “Bring the Night”, San Francisco House DJ Kaskade sets things off with the opener, Axwell’s “I Found U,” and his own remixes—of Nelly Furtado’s lilting “All Good Things (Come to an End)” and Floetry’s “SupaStar” (mixed in key with Milton Jackson’s ecstatic “Cycles”) are blowing up the dancefloors around the world.
We still can’t stop listening to Kaskade’s third album “Love Mysterious” (9/06) and first release with Ultra Records. “Love Mysterious” has us hooked with its bold production and big-room sound different from his preceding CDs, “It’s You, It’s Me” and “In The Moment.” With amazing tracks like Stars Align, Kaskade releases his trademark melodies, sensual vocalists, and emotionally driven sound but “Love Mysterious” takes things to a sound of greater dimension.

SCUMFROG – JESSE HOUK
Amsterdam’s Jesse Houk, aka The Scumfrog, is always thinking ahead. The in-demand remixer and energetic DJ is looking for ways to take dance music to new arenas, weather it’s with his live electronic music act “DJs Are Alive” or at his virtual club, Glam Scum, on Second Life. The “music revolution-ary” is no stranger to traditional dance clubs though, recently headlining Ibiza’s Privilege (the worlds biggest club), playing at the Burning Man festival, and touring constantly. We sat down with the former boy band member to find out his loves, his hates, and what he has planned for his new website.
How did you first get into DJing?
I started DJing in high school in the mid eighties as a way to get invited to parties otherwise exclusive to girls and guys in higher grades. This was long before a DJ was cool. He was usually tucked away somewhere and yelled at for not playing enough Kid n Play. However, the next day in class you could say I was there.
What was your first big break?
Landing two of my tracks on Danny Tenaglias Global Underground compilation in 1999.
How would you describe your personal look/style?
I'm into fashion to the point that I follow certain brands and designers. If something makes me look good I stick with it. But I’m not very hip when it comes to keeping up with the seasons. You’ll be likely to see me in something that is so 2004. I’m not against labels as long as they’re not visible on me.
How would you describe your sound?
Fitting and elevating.
What do you think about the current state of affairs in dance music?
Between Clear Channel still not being down with Trentmoller, and actual music sales being at a seemingly unstoppable decline, dance music is completely underground again, which is, in my humble opinion, when it is at its most innovative and vibrant. More and more producers during their creative process let go of the notion that their songs need to sell or get radio play. This results in music that is more from the heart than from the mind, and on any given underground club night, the result of this trend is very audible.
What other artists or producers have been impressing you lately?
Keep an eye out for Deadmau5 (Canada), D-Nox (Germany), David Gausa (Spain), Lank (Hungary), Tommy Vee (Italy)
What’s your favorite club to play? Favorite city to play in?
The Deep End in Black Rock City
What’s the one thing you cant live without when on the road?
My amazing team back home that informs me where I am, and what I am doing, on an hour-to-hour basis.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen or had happen to you at a gig?
Watching a fellow DJ from the same line-up chatting up a girl while I was performing. He was claiming to be me after she told him she had come to the club to see The Scumfrog. I don’t know if she fell for it, but they did leave the club together.
What exciting stuff do you have coming up? Gigs, albums, travel...?
I did a project with Cyndi Lauper for her upcoming album. The stuff came out really cool and is about ready for release on Sony. For travel info check out www.thescumfrog.com.
With his new website thescrumfrog.com – Jesse is one of the first major producers to give away upcoming tracks to DJs and fans. Check it out and get tour dates, new releases, merchandise, and downloads, and some extra exclusives.
Listen to The Scumfrog’s new show on Sirius Radio’s Area 33 or his most recent DJ mix podcast at theflawlessSound.com. He’ll be playing at New York’s Sullivan Room on December 14, 2007.
PAUL VAN DYK – FEATURING REA GARVEY – LET GO

Paul van Dyk is always ready to bring it to you with star quality. These days his touring schedule is maxed out with globetrotting stops at major venues in London, Tel Aviv, Mexico, New York, Singapore, and recently selling out his dates at London’s Koko, Digital in Newcastle, and Warehouse Project in Manchester.
Between all that touring, PvD is still able to bring a sensational remix and video for “Let Go”, the new single from his recent CD, “In Between.” “ Let Go” is a classic slab of pure PvD and a favorite from his club sets everywhere.
PvD shot the video in downtown Los Angeles with vocals from Rea Garvey of German guitar heroes, Reamonn and directed by Hollywood’s most in demand music director, Shane Drake. Drake has worked some other amazing videos like: Timberland’s “The Way I Are”, Paramore’s “Crushcrushcrush” and Panic! At the Disco’s “I Write Sins and Tragedies” which won him the 2006 MTV Video Music Award for Best Director.
The remix release package for ‘Let Go’ includes a Vandit Club Mix, PvD Club Mix, plus remixes from Alex Kunnari, TV Rock, and Martin Roth.

DJ Sandra Collins and super-star VJ Vello Virkhaus have set the standard on the evolution of sight – sound – style, when the two pair to create an inventive and mesmerizing dance-space manipulation. During any performance you can catch Collins providing the sound on more than 40 original animated works of Virkhaus virtually intercepted the video feeds and remixed images that will blow your mind.
Recently, Robert LaFrance from DJ Times Magazine sat down with SV2 to find out more on their multimedia magic:
It’s amazing the artistic opportunities that technology can afford. Case in point: SV2. Sandra Collins, long known as America’s trance goddess, is wearing a new hat with a boundary-defying concept called “SV2 presents Interference.” Along with partner (both on stage and in life) and acclaimed video director, Vello Virkhaus, they are freeing the VJ from the dark backrooms of the club and welcoming him to center stage with equal billing in a seamlessly merged multimedia extravaganza.

Styletraxx's sat down with the amazing Hector Romero to check-in and see what the house legend has been u too lately. The man has been in the biz for 20 years, is partners with such dance music heroes as Satoshi Tomeii, Frankie Knuckles and David Morales, and has played virtually every club there is. We chatted with DEF MIX / SAW recordings big wig and all around nice guy Hector Romero to learn about his eclectic sound, the future of dance music, and the interesting custom customs in St. Petersberg Russia.
How did you first get into DJing?
I grew up in The Bronx, NY and DJing was a craft that pretty much started there during the Hip Hop days in the late 70s. I actually started as a Hip Hop DJ but quickly found more of a passion for Dance Music.
What was your first big break?
My first BIG break was when a NY promoter teamed me up to play with David Morales at the Red Zone (early 90s) - long story short the night was a success, we hit it off and here I am at Def Mix now celebrating 20 Years of business with them. It’s been a great ride so far.

TIESTO - IN SEARCH OF SUNRISE 6 - IBIZA

In Search of Sunrise 6, titled ‘Ibiza’, is the latest in the highly successful series based on the places and spaces that have been a source of stimulus for Tiesto during his tours around the world.
For inspiration Tiesto returned to the magical place that breathes the energy, the island of Ibiza. The island has many beautiful, secret spots to be discovered and still delivers amazing parties at the best clubs known in the dance scene.
With In Search of Sunrise 6, Tiesto has captured the mood and energy of Ibiza, showing his love and dedication to the island and the party people in two sparkling CDs that will definitely make you want to return to summer.
A two-disc set captures the world-class mixing technique that has made Tiesto the number one DJ in the world. Tiesto brings the very, latest in the world of trance, including an exclusive mix of Imogen Heap’s hit “Hide & Seek”. Tiesto declared, “Most of the tracks are so exclusive that, if I’d still been mixing with records, I wouldn’t have been able to get these productions on vinyl!”
The 3-time winner (2002, 2003, 2004) of DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJ List, Tiesto’s career is punctuated by landmark achievements. The first DJ in the world to sell out a solo stadium event for over 25,000 people but despite his success Tiesto remains grounded about his achievements and clearly loves making and playing music above the accolades it brings.

With his third hit album Pop Life, the return of the legendary ‘F*@k Me I’m Famous’ parties in Ibiza and massive bookings all over Europe, multi-million selling producer, recording artist, promoter, and superstar DJ David Guetta is coming to the USA for a limited tour.
His new 14 tracks on new CD Pop Life proves you can move hearts and minds on the dancefloor. With two huge tracks, ‘Love Is Gone’ (classic Guetta, featuring Chris ‘Just A Little More Love’ Willis on vocals) and ‘Baby When The Light’ (“The total opposite of what I usually do… a very feminine kind of fragility”), Pop Life features co-writes for the first time – with Cathy ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ Dennis and Karen Poole (Jamelia/Girls Aloud/Lily Allen), to name two – and it’s David best album to date, destined to be the soundtrack to this summer and beyond. It’s also suitably-named, from the one DJ who knows pop isn’t a dirty word; whose club nights are open to one and all.

FREEMASONS UNMIXED AND UNINVITED

Freemasons “Unmixed” is actually a greatest hits of sorts, bringing together a string of the duo’s early hits plus a few tracks from 2007’s double CD mix ‘Shakedown’ – but all, as the title suggests, in their complete, unmixed state.
The duo’s biggest hit to date, "Uninvited" - an all-but-unrecognizable take on the Alanis Morissette hit - attaches a stomping beat to circling Eastern strings, sweeping classical violin, and the vocals of Bailey Tzuke.
There is also enhanced content available on the CD (only) when inserted into your computer you get 3 extra remixes, 8 acapellas, and over 150 Freemasons drum loops.

Styletaxx got a chance to sit down wth one of today's HOTTEST DJ's on the electronic scene.
Styletraxx:
So how was your summer?
Serge Devant:
Summer was great, but super busy. July and August were probably the busiest months I have ever had. I think I played close to 25 gigs in that period. It was very tiring but also really exciting. I also got the chance to meet a lot of really cool people.
Styletraxx:
Any crazy stories?
Serge Devant:
The weirdest thing to happen to me recently was just before the summer started. I was flying from Trinidad to Venezuela, and I ended up being on the same flight as one of the terrorists who wanted to blow up gas tanks at JFK airport. As one of the only Americans on the plane, and being from New York, it was a little surreal. When you play internationally and travel as much as I do, stuff like that can really bug you out.
Styletraxx:
How did you get into DJing or music in general?
Serge Devant;
I’m originally from Russia, and went to school there to study music very young. When I moved to the States, a friend of mine had turntables. I had already been a fan of high energy dance music, so I played around on his decks, and was instantly hooked.
Styletraxx:
How would you describe your personal look or style?
Serge Devant:
I’d say I have a casual look, but artistic. When I’m buying clothes, I like unique things that not a lot of people have. My look is like my music, influenced by whatever I think is cool and interesting. But for a real “rock and roll” look, you can’t beat a great pair of shades.
Styletraxx:
How would you describe your sound?
Serge Devant:
I’d call it progressive and techy, with cool funky-chunky basslines and melodic elements mixed in. I’m not afraid to let the music get “emotional” here and there either. But the unifying element is that the energy of the room is always present in the music.
Stylerraxx:
What makes you unique from other DJs in the scene right now?
Serge Devant;
My versatility. I play a bit of everything, not sticking to any one style in my sets. I’d rather take the crowd to different places over the coarse of the night, and when they are really into it, I can really experiment. I like playing with the vibe of the room, and don’t mind changing up my style to fit the moment.
Styletraxx;
What other artists have been impressing you lately?
Serge Devant:
Dubfire has certainly been on fire lately. I really like what he’s been producing. And Deadmaus and Adam k has been putting out some really quality stuff, as well.
Styletraxx:
What was your first “big break”?
Serge Devant:
Things really took off for my when I got picked by Tiesto to open for him on the bunch of dates, and then he really vouched for me publicly in a couple of interviews.
Styletraxx:
Now you and Tiesto are pretty tight, with you continuing to open for him at gigs like in the Hamptons this past Labor Day weekend, or at the Borgata in Atlantic City in October. How did you two wind up working together?
Serge Devant:
After the first time I was lucky enough to open for him a few years ago, he was really impressed. Now he asks for me when ever he plays in the States.
Styletraxx:
What’s your favorite club to play? Favorite city to play in?
I really enjoy playing Vanguard in LA. It has a great sound system, and is all around just a great venue. I really used to love playing Crobar in New York – I was one of their youngest resident DJs.
Serge Devant:
I still love playing anywhere in New York City the most. It’s my home town, and I always get an amazing reception when I play here.
Styletraxx:
What do you think about the current state of nightlife and dance music in New York right now?
Serge Devant:
It’s a bit shaky, with some real hit or miss nights. A lot of the fun nights lately have been at cool, smaller places. Since Crobar closed, the only big club that is bringing talent is Pacha. But we really need something else here in the city.
Styletraxx:
What do you think we could do to improve it?
Serge Devant:
Someone needs to open a couple of new venues, or build new parties at old places. A big festival that would bring a bunch of new, upcoming talent would work, too.
Styletraxx:
What exciting stuff do you have coming up?
Serge Devant;
I just completed a new single called "Part of Me," which has some great remixes. That comes out at the end of the month. I also have some cool gigs coming up. I’m playing Pacha in Egypt, which should be amazing, and I’m heading back to play in Russia soon. I’m definitely excited to be going back “home.”
Serge Devant plays Sonar, the new Saturday party at Avalon New York on October 6rth, and opens for A|X favorite Tiesto at the Borgata October 26th. “Part of Me” is out this month on Ultra Records.
