Newly signed Real Madrid superstars, Cristiano Ronaldo and former Emporio Armani model Ricardo Kaka were seen yesterday stretching out on the field during their first official day of training.

Officially named Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, the midfielder adopted the nickname Kaka at an early age, simply because his younger brother had a difficult time pronouncing "Ricardo."

Next to Ronaldo, Kaka is considered one of the two best players in soccer today. His new team, Real Madrid, would agree. They recently bought him from A.C. Milan at a staggering $92 million dollars.

Debuting in front of 80,000 screaming fans, footballer Cristiano Ronaldo was formally unveiled as a player for Real Madrid. In his new role, he as already managed to beat world records, with a 130 million dollar move from Manchester United to Real Madrid.

Cristiano juggled the ball to a standing ovation and spoke in Spanish to thank the crowd for turning up. "I am just so happy to be here. For me, I have made my childhood dream a reality, which was nothing less than playing for Real Madrid. I didn't expect a jam-packed stadium - this is truly impressive,.'' he said.

Speaking about his Manchester team, he said "Thank you to all (United) supporters, the boss (Sir Alex Ferguson), friends and teammates - I've been there six years and have friends there. But people respect my decision. The great challenge now, and dream, is to play at Real Madrid but I'm going to miss many things in Manchester. It was good. My relationship with him [Sir Alex Ferguson] was always good and will stay that way forever. I went to Manchester, spoke to them and everything was fine. Life goes on."

And speaking about his new multi-million dollar contract, Ronaldo said "I'm happy to be the most expensive player in the history of football and I'm going to prove that they paid good money for me and it was worth it."

Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to complete his world record move to Real Madrid before the end of June. Ferguson’s (Manager Manchester United) made his decision to sell the World Footballer of the Year, last week.

After attempting to sign Ronaldo in 2006 and 2008, Real has now succeeded in luring the Portuguese from Old Trafford. Ferguson admitted yesterday that Christiano R. “simply wanted to leave”.

But Queiroz (now coach of the International Portuguese football Team), who had a close relationship with Ronaldo during his four years as Ferguson’s assistant, believes that the player is leaving behind the best environment for his career by moving to Madrid. Queiroz said: “Manchester United was the right club for him. But at the end of the day, the player has made a decision. United had a great relationship with him because they have had the best of his performances for the last six years. Cristiano believes it is time to move and the fee is huge, but he has won all the trophies and become the best player in the world in a United shirt.”

Recently, pictures surfaced of Ronaldo hanging out with ex-inmate Paris Hilton during his holiday in Los Angeles, adding to the perception that the player is developing a taste for the celebrity lifestyle.

Queiroz admits, “having managed Real during the first “galacticos” era, the Spanish club must avoid celebrity overshadowing the football. Queiroz further: “At Real, those things can happen easily. But I am sure that Florentino Perez (Real president) will learn from the mistakes of a few years ago, when the players were too committed to advertising.

When you put together players like Beckham, Zidane, Figo and Roberto Carlos, the challenge is huge and, with Ronaldo and Kaka, I’m sure these things will come up again”.

One advantage of Ronaldo’s move to Real Madrid is that he has started clearing out his luxury car garage - first one up for sale is his prized Porsche.

A car dealer is in charge of selling many of Ronaldo’s vehicles, so don't think that you can meet the soccer superstar by claiming you want to take his on a test-drive!

Our favorite soccer star hottie David Beckham is close to striking a short-term deal to join up with the Serie A giants on loan from Los Angeles Galaxy in January during the Major League Soccer close-season.

The former England captain is determined to keep his place in the national team the 33 year old is desperate to maintain his fitness in a bid to remain in Fabio Capello's England plans and become his country's most-capped outfield player.

The midfielder currently has 107 caps, just one short of Bobby Moore's mark of 108 appearances, but knows he will not be considered by Capello during Galaxy's four-month break.

While the move seems one mutually and wholly beneficial to both Milan and Beckham himself, he made some startling declarations. "To be honest, I am happy with the Milan move but would have much rather joined Tottenham," said the England international.

"I wanted to avoid going straight from the MLS to Calcio if I could - it's a bit of a leap at my age.I think Tottenham could have been the perfect stepping stone. After all, a lot of people compare the MLS with the Championship, don't they?"

"My wife Victoria was fully supportive of the Spurs switch as well, she thought it would be better as my image as a footballer. She said something like, 'You couldn't ask for an easier way to look good than playing alongside Bentley'. She always knows how to cheer me up."

Beckham is under contract with the LA Galaxy but their regular season finishes on Sunday.

Michelle Larcher de Brito is talented beyond her years, being only 15 years old this Portugese teenager participates only in select pro tournaments and otherwise spends her time training at home in Bradenton, Fla.

Unlike many other tween pro's Brito is not complaining about the new WTA rule, limitation on the number of tournaments a young teen can play in. Larcher de Brito has commented on supporting the rule, saying "I think it's a good rule because they're trying to protect the players from overplaying. I actually don't like that many tournaments in a row. I like playing a couple of tournaments and then going home. I don't want to get too tired."

When Brito is at home in Florida she goes to school at the Nick Bollettieri Academy. Where her father, Antonio Larcher de Brito, is her full-time coach. Larcher de Brito spends her days like any other 15 year old girl with trips to the mall,and hanging out with friends. She says "I don't have much time for it, but when whenever I can, I go to the movies and shop. I love Armani Exchange. I actually have a Siberian Huskie, and his name is Armani."

Michelle Larcher de Brito started the summer by playing the qualifying at the Bank of the West Classic, she won her first-round match against seasoned Gisela Dulko 7-5, 7-6 (1).

That win gave her the golden opportunity to face off with Williams, an eight-time Grand Slam champion. Larcher de Brito stood her ground against such a notable opponent. She won the opening set before surrendering 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

"It was almost an upset but I still have a lot of years ahead of me and a lot of experience to gain, a lot of tennis to play," said Larcher de Brito. She hopes to get into the U.S. Open though is currently an alternate.

Soccer star and stud, Sergio Aguero, was spotted picking up the latest trends yesterday at the Armani Exchange store in Aventura, FL. The world-famous International soccer plays for Atletico Madrid from Spain which is one of the best teams in world. He also won the World Cup of Soccer last year in Canada with the Argentinean national team and was the MVP of the tournament. Aguero said that he wears A|X clothing every day-unless he's scoring goals on the field...

Tom Brady was spotted outside girlfriend Gisele Bundchen’s apartment yesterday wearing what appears to be a walking cast or boot on his right foot.

When asked if his leg is injured, Brady said on WEEI radio, “Ah, you know, there’s always bumps and bruises. I’ll be ready for the Super Bowl. I’m not missing this one. I’d have to be on a stretcher to miss this one. There will be treatment this week. In games like this, you get a little nicked up. It’s nothing serious.”

Brady led the Patriots to victory Sunday in the AFC Championship game against the San Diego Charges bringing in 22-of-33 for 209 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions in a 21-12 win.

Brady’s injury comes just two weeks before the Patriots face the New York Giants in the Super Bowl in Arizona.

Hope you are all well?

I’ve continued to step up my match fitness over the past week and managed to come off the bench and play a part against Red Bull New York and Chicago Fire. It was a great feeling to be part of the action again.

Unfortunately, results went against us and we just missed out on a play off spot. The team had played so well over the past six or seven games, so I’m incredibly disappointed for them, but we’ll come back stronger next season I’m sure.

I’d like to wish Cobi Jones a happy retirement from playing. He’s been at the Galaxy since the club was formed and has definitely been one of its, and the MLS’s, greatest players. So, best of luck to him for the future.

Published reports are saying that “The Six Million Dollar Man” David Beckham could miss the rest of the Los Angeles Galaxy’s season due to recent injuries. Beckham has been diagnosed with a sprained right knee after he was injured in the Galaxy’s 4-3 SuperLiga penalty shootout loss to Mexican club Pachuca on Wednesday.

Beckham, who earns a guaranteed salary of $6.5 million a year, is likely to be sidelined for six weeks—meaning his debut Major League Soccer season is virtually over. Becks will have to fight hard to recover in time for Galaxy’s last game on October 21, but will certainly miss England’s crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers against Israel and Russia in September.

David Beckham (#23) of the Los Angeles Galaxy finally made his real debut with the team last Wednesday night, against D.C. And this past Saturday he set records at Giants Stadium bringing in a crowd of 66,000 people. The largest crowd in MLS franchise history came out to watch the Six Million Dollar Man “Becks” strut his stuff. At the end, the crowd packed stadium watched the Los Angeles Galaxy fall 5-4 to the New York Red Bulls.
Later that night Becks was spotted having a good time in NYC at The Box (189 Chrystie Street, a between Stanton and Rivington Streets). Other celebs spotted at the Box were John Mayer and Alicia Keys.

David Beckham made his much-anticipated debut with the L.A. Galaxy soccer team Saturday, to a sold-out crowd at the Home Depot Center stadium in Carson, California. Despite his ankle injury Becks’ took to the field in the second half while the crowd chatted: “Beckham, Beckham”. The only problem is Becks’ only took the stage, (err field) for about as long as a Britney Spears performance - about 13 minutes. Galaxy lost against Chelsea 0 to 1.

Venus "Wimbedon" Wiliams took home her 4th Wimbledon (she won in 2000, 2001, and 2005) title on Saturday, beating Marion Bartoli in straight sets (6-4, 6-1) and taking home the women’s championship. WAY TO GO!!!!
