GOLDFRAPP UNPLUGGED

goldfrapp_unplugged.jpg
The electro-duo Goldfrapp, Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, are ditching their electro-infused pop for their fourth album 'Seventh Tree' and moving towards a radically different sound that is more acoustic and organic.

In a recent interview to Billboard Magazine, Allison Goldfrapp said, "We did talk quite a lot about what kind of instruments would get that kind of warmth and that kind of sound we wanted. We'd never used acoustic guitars before. We wanted the sound to be delicate, but not weak." "We did an acoustic radio session and we really enjoyed that. I think that involves more people, having little chamber group sounds."

The live show is going to be stripped back as well, with more emphasis on acoustic and live instruments. Gregory tell Billboard: "We're going to try and do it unplugged and be more acoustic about it, and see how that feels.

The tracklisting for "Seventh Tree" is as follows:

"Clowns"
"Little Bird"
"Happiness"
"Road To Somewhere"
"Eat Yourself"
"Some People"
"AandE"
"Cologne Cerrone Houdini"
"Caravan Girl"
"Monster Love"

The record was co-produced by Flood (Smashing Pumpkins, NIN) and will drop on February 26 2008.

DJ MAGAZINE ANNOUCE TOP 100 POLL RESULTS

roges%20sanchez%20headphones.JPG.jpg
DJ Mag has announced the results of their annual Top 100 DJ poll, and it looks like there's a new king. Armin Van Buuren, famous for his State of Trance radio show an has taken the top spot, with 3 time champ Tiesto coming in at a not-too-shabby #2, and John Digweed at #3.

Two of the biggest success stories this year are David Guetta and Axwell, who's amazing productions and non-stop touring have resulted in giant leaps to the #10 and #33 spots, respectively .

A|X Music Series vets Erick Morillo & Roger Sanchez both did well, duking it out for the 24 & 25 positions. Besides killer bragging rights, the list is used by so many promoters to plan their bookings that the poll, like it or hate it, has real financial implications on DJ's incomes.
