
The 2008 Grammy Nominations were announced yesterday and our good friend Tiesto received a nomination in the category “Best Electronic Dance Album”, for his CD “Elements of Life”
“Elements of Life” released by Black Hole Recordings, has currently sold over 72,000 albums in the US and reaching golden and platinum status in several other countries.
Other highlights are Kanye West leadng the pack of nominees with eight nominations, followed by Amy Winehouse with six and Foo Fighters, Jay-Z, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and T-Pain with five each, and Rihanna snagging three nominees for record of the year (Umbrela), song of the year (Umbrella), and R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals (Hate That I Love You with Ne-Yo). The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences was established in 1957, and is an organization of musicians, producers, engineers and recording professionals that is dedicated to improving the cultural condition and quality of life for music and its makers. The 50th annual Grammy Awards will be presented Feb. 10, 2008, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
