This past Sunday Nicole Richie and about 90 of her closest friends, including Prison Princess Paris, Nicky Hilton, Lauren Conrad and Rashida Jones, celebrated at a Wizard of Oz-themed baby shower held at the Beverly Hilton hotel.
Invitations fhe Wizard of Oz (Nicole’s favorite) themed event were hand-delivered last Thursday and the event, was planned by Mindy Weiss, who went all out with touches like life-size replicas of all of the Oz characters (Dorothy, the Tinman, the Lion, the Scarecrow and the Wicked Witch of the West), ruby slipper centerpieces, a yellow brick road lined with candy, and a live band performing tunes from the old Hollywood classic flick.
Richie told the press: “It’s nice to be supported by your friends and family. There are people here I haven’t seen in so long.” Guest at the event were asked to donate money for the newly-established Richie Madden Children’s Foundation instead of bringing gifts.
Richie and boyfriend Joel Madden announced the pregnancy in July. She is due in January.
