According to the Associated Press, The Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End star Orlando Bloom is ready to take a break after a few whirlwind years of movie making.
“It’s been wonderful, but I’m sort of psyched to do something completely different,” Bloom, 30, tells the AP.
Bloom has recently signed on to star in the David Storey play In Celebration in London. Although he’s excited about being on stage, Bloom says he expects that he’ll be “rather terrified”. “I just really wanted to have a very organic experience. I didn’t want to feel like I was in a star vehicle yet by any means,” he tells the AP.
But no worries, Bloom is not giving up movie making or future blockbusters: “I’m looking forward to continuing working on movies and making choices that excite me, and right now that is doing some theater.” Bloom is looking to take things at his own pace: “Actors don’t really get into their stride until they’re in their late 30s and 40s,” he says. “So when I think of the bigger picture, I’ve got a long road ahead.”
