Wednesday night was the official kick-off of the holiday season in the city.
It began with the lighting of the tree in Rockefeller Center where thousands packed midtown NYC for the festivities. They were entertained by John Legend, Christina Aguilera, Sting and Bette Midler during the two-hour event.
The 9-ton Rockefeller Center Christmas tree was set aglow with 30,000 colored lights and is topped with Swarovski crystals. Check it out until Jan. 8, 2007
