Whitney Port's City roomate, Erin Lucas, announced last week she won't be part of the second season of the reality series. While Lucas did reportedly shoot some scenes for The City's second season, the NYU grad has decided to focus on her hosting career instead of the show. The realitytress commented that "I decided to do something different,". She’s currently working on the online reality series, Concrete and Cashmere (on which Lucas is a guest judge). "I have a project in the mix, but I want to get into more hosting. That's really what I love."
While the hosting gig was part of the reason behind Lucas' departure, sources confirmed that she also had a falling out with Port. She admitted she hasn't spoken to Port in months, though she claims there's no hard feelings and she'd give Port a big hug if she ever saw her again. "We were [close], but things change," she said. However, we spotted The City crew filming at a Gen-Art benefit two weeks ago, which Erin attended along with Whitney. And you know what? There was no hugging. "I wasn't filming [that night], I was just there," Lucas tried to explain. She said running into the old camera crews and co-stars was awkward. "But Sammy's still one of my best friends." So why'd she give it up? "It was just hard," she said. "It was a chapter in my life and it was nothing but positive. I'm glad I did it, but on to the next thing. I'm kind of a gypsy. I released a statement a couple of days ago, but this is the first interview with people asking me about it, so I don't know what to say." Life is hard when no one gives you a script.
Lucas is the second original The City cast member to leave the reality series recently, as Tamarama band singer Jay Lyon - who dated Port during the show's first edition before the two called it quits - stated in late May that he was walking away from the series to instead focus on music. Don’t worry the drama will still be there as MTV has leaked that two new "vixens" are being added into the mix, they will have recurring roles on The City's upcoming second season. “Their names are Samantha and Roxy, and they are out of control," a source told The Post. "MTV brought in new party girls because the first season was so boring." In addition, the two new girls were brought in because The City star Olivia Palermo has a new job that will decrease the amount of partying she contributes to the show's second season. "Palermo now works at Elle and can't be out going wild," the source told The Post.
