The daddy of the electro-techno scene is back once again, with yet another new album for his fans ie all of us. This time it's called He Was King, it's out on Monday 25th August on Nettwerk, and it features yet another about turn, style-wise…well, you can never tell what a Housecat's gonna do next.
Felix really goes back within the scene - he's been around long enough that people like DJ Hell consider him a godfather, and that's saying something. But it was back in 2001 that he really made himself known to the electro generation, when his Kittenz And Thee Glitz album virtually invented electroclash, and he was introduced to a whole new generation who'd never heard his tougher trax before.
So it's no surprise to us that Felix has decided to change the game once again: indeed, that's business as usual with him, as he's always changed his tempo, from album to album, mix CD to mix CD. However, we reckon it's fair to say that this is his most obvious attempt to crossover to a pop audience. Indeed, he admits himself, 'Whereas Kittenz & The Glitz was straight up electro, He Was King is straight Felix Da Housecat pop with a nice electronic feel.
