First there was Dracula, then there was Twilight, followed by True Blood. And now there's The Vampire Diaries. We can't get enough of those sexy vampires and our newest fixation is coming to the CW this fall with Vampire Diaries.
Vampire Diaries is the new, teen-oriented drama from The CW. The show is based on a series of books written by L.J. Smith, and tells the story of a high school girl named Elena who falls in love with the very mysterious Stefan, who happens to be a centuries-old vampire. Stefan and his brother Damon have a tumultuous relationship thanks to another woman who came between them many years ago. Their relationship goes from bad to worse when Elena captures the attention of both men and an epic battle for her heart ensues.
Former Lost star Ian Somerhalder has snagged the role of Damon. Nina Dobrev has been cast to play Elena and Paul Wesley from Everwood joins the cast as the 200-year-old Stefan. Dawson's Creekâs Kevin Williamson will be the executive producer for the series. The show is set to air at 8pm on Thursday nights.
