ALLISON MELNICK BRINGS BIG APPLE STYLE TO LA NIGHTLIFE

On Thursday night (Aug 14th) in Los Angeles, on the corner of Robertson and Santa Monica Boulevard. The new Apple Lounge made its subterranean debut under the new Bradley Ogden eatery Apple. New York native Allison Melnick debuted her first bar along side friend Samantha Ronson who DJ'd for the red carpet event, spinning 60s rock mixes to hip-hop. The club won't officially open until after labor day but this tasting certainly brought out a crowd along side Ronson, was gal pal Lindsay Morgan Lohan ,Christina Millian and Paris Hilton were just a few of the A listers there to get their first slice of apple.

Apple Lounge has been Melnicks ultimate goal, and she knows that having celebrities show up to the club, much less being one, will only get you so far in star-soaked Los Angeles. In statement to the press Melnick said: "This has been my dream for 20 years - it's what I do best". "The scene is saturated," that's why she's taking a cautious approach. "We are only going to be open three nights a week," she says: Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

This venue at 665 N. Robertson is the ulitimate trifecta - split into three separate destinations, chef Bryan Ogden's Apple restaurant, Melnick's Apple lounge and a forthcoming Pussycat Dolls venue. All are hoping for this to become the newest nightlife mecca come fall .But Melnick is content to run things her own way for now. "They can call me names all they want," she says of aspiring club crashers who may very well end up on the wrong side of the velvet rope. "If they are chic enough, they'll find their way inside," she insists. "I'm not here to compete, I'm here to prove."
