Well February 2008 is going to be a big month for “The Dutchess”, Fergie, not only is she gracing the cover of the January / February Blender, as Woman of the Year, but she is also nominated for a Grammy in the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for her hit “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, (February 10, 08) and she will be joining Kanye West, Akon and will.i.am. on the 25th anniversary edition of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, due February 12.
She speaks to Blender about her popularity and celebrity: “People put celebrities on a pedestal and act like they’re perfect. But I’m more like the people’s artist — the same way Diana was ‘the people’s princess.’ I’m a little more human than other artists. I’m not afraid to show my flaws.”
On Michael Jackson’s 25th anniversary CD - 25: Yesterday, Today and Forever – The CD portion includes a new version of 'Beat It 2008' by Fergie, a Kanye West remix of “Billie Jean”; a new 2008 version of “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” with Akon and Will.I.Am; and Will.I.Am remixes of “The Girl Is Mine” and “P.Y.T.”
The set also includes “For All Time,” an unreleased track from the original “Thriller” recording sessions, mixed and re-mastered by Jackson.
