Joel Madden and Nicole Richie are lending their names to gain attention to charity. Joel and Nicole are stepping up their philanthropic efforts, and starting a charity called Richie Madden Children’s Foundation.
The Richie Madden Children’s Foundation will support mothers in need and to kick off their charity; Prison Princess Paris Hilton is throwing a baby shower for Nicole in Beverly Hills, Calif., this Sunday.
Instead of gifts Nicole has asked that guest to donate to her charity by with things like cribs, strollers, and stuffed animals to the RMCF. Also, in the month of December, the RMCF will be donating 100 Mom-to-be kits to the LA free clinic.
According to the press release: “Nicole would like to invite friends, family and fans across America to participate in the moms-in-need program and highly publicized baby shower. The Richie Madden Children’s Foundation will create and promote an online registry to inspire the purchases of items for moms and their families in need. Anyone in the country will be able buy from the registry on her behalf for the clinic. The registry link will live on the Richie Madden Children’s Foundation website for at least six months and will be updated regularly based on the needs of the LA Free Clinic and other participating clinics.”
The venue is being kept a closely guarded secret, but invites suggest the party, which is being organized by wedding planner-to-the-stars Mindy Weiss, will start at 12:30 p.m.
According to In Touch weekly: celebrity DJ Sam Ronson will provide the music and the menu will include sushi, coconut shrimp, lobster, lemon-pepper chicken, fruit and cake.
Nicole told press, “I want my child to look up to me and be proud of me.”
