The Six Million Dollar Man, David Beckham, played in a charity soccer game to benefit the victims of the California wildfires in Southern California in a soccer exhibition Sunday.
The game raised more than $90,000, and Beckham scored two goals and had three assists in 83 minutes in a 12-4 rout of LaPaglia’s Hollywood United. The Hollywood United team included actors Anthony LaPaglia of “Without a Trace,” Brandon Routh of “Superman Returns,” Costas Mandaylor of “Saw IV,” Jimmy Jean-Louis of “Heroes” and Def Leppard guitarist Viv Campbell.
Becks told the press: “I want to be involved in every game possible but I’ve got to get my fitness right,” Beckham said. “I can’t put myself up for selection if I’m not 100 percent fit, or at least 90-95 percent fit.”
“It’s probably the best I’ve felt in quite a few months now,” Beckham said. “It was important for me to get a good workout tonight. I’ve been working hard trying to get myself fit.” To see how you can assist the victims of the Southern California Wildfires go to the American Red Cross here
