
As reported on Styletraxx the series of Live Earth concerts across seven continents was held this past weekend.
The Global Party - Live Earth was organized by former Vice President Al Gore in an effort of raising awareness about global warming. With over 100 musical acts including: Madonna, Police, Dave Matthews Band, Kelly Clarkson , Kanye West, Alicia Keys, John Mayer, Bon Jovi and Ludacris, joined in on the action, the entertainers played to over 2 billion people through television, radio and the Internet.
Leonardo DiCaprio took a break from
filming The Revolutionary Road with Kate Winslet to let his voice be heard about the dangers of global warming urging the crowd at New York Giant Stadium to make a difference and go green.
“We can’t afford to fail,” said Leo. “This moment is a tipping point in history.”
Leo then went on to then proceeded to introduce environmentalist and former vice president Al Gore. Leo described Gore as a “global messenger of hope when we most need it.”
It was a true unity with mission. Gores final plea was heard loud and clear at the events end: “Today, two billion of us have come together in over 130 countries on seven continents. Times like these demand action: please sign the Live Earth pledge.” To make a pledge go to liveearth.org
