R.E.M., Van Halen, punk legend Patti Smith, hip-hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and the Ronettes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Monday (March 12) during a ceremony at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. For the first time, the event was broadcast live on VH1 Classic.
